BoDean Company and Northgate Ready Mix Pave the Way for Sustainable Practices
Since beginning operations in 1989, BoDean Company and Northgate Ready Mix have implemented innovative sustainable technologies and practices throughout their facilities.
From pioneering more eco-friendly production methods to integrating renewable energy solutions, their commitment to sustainable practices sets an example for others to follow. Below is a list of sustainable practices BoDean Company and Northgate Ready Mix have implemented:
Water Conservation – Rainwater Harvesting
They can capture and store rainwater for use when appropriate. Rainwater harvesting can reduce reliance on municipal water sources.
Low Emissions Fleet – Low NOx Emissions
Northgate Ready Mix’s fleet is Certified Clean Idle by the State of California. Their truck engines are certified low NOx engines (oxides of nitrogen).
Recycled Base Rock – Reduces Waste & Energy Use
Returned concrete is crushed and transformed into an aggregate base. This practice increases material circulatory and energy efficiency.
Locally Sourced Aggregates – Solar Powered Mining
Their aggregate supplier is local and mines aggregates by using solar power. By sourcing aggregates from nearby sources, they are minimizing transportation-related emissions. Choosing suppliers that utilize solar power for mining operations reduces the carbon footprint associated with aggregate extraction.
Zero-Emission Plants – Running Entirely Electric
Their state-of-the-art batching plants are electric with zero on-site emissions.
